Every story has a particular theme. Some common theme examples in literature are love, evil, perseverance, etc. whether it is a fictional story or a real-life experience, every story follows a particular theme.  So today, we are going to explore some of the best types of story writing  themes, along with examples.

Coming of Age

• The perks of being a sunflower:- This is a movie and novel written and directed by Stephen Chbosky. It is about a boy, Charlie going through adulthood and watching life from a distance until he meets two friends and understands the real meaning of life.

• Little women:- written by Louisa May Alcott, this movie talks about the journey of four sisters who are determined to live their life on their terms.

Good vs. Evil

The struggle between good and evil has been a story theme examples for a time in the memorial. The main idea the author tries to implement is that evil can be influential, but good is always victorious. Survival

Survival is a basic instinct in every human being, which has made this theme a popular genre. People like to add horror, mystery, or dystopian society and make it more appealing to the audience. Some famous survival-themed novels are:-

• Life of Pi is a novel written by Yann Martel about a boy stranded after a shipwreck with a tiger looking for ways to survive.

• Room:- is a novel written by Emma Donoghue, a story about a woman kidnapped and held captive for seven years with her five-year-old son.

Power and Corruption

Power and corruption is another story theme that goes hand in hand. Influential people following corruption schemes are often explored as a good genre if looking for something different from the ordinary kind of themes.

• Hunger Games- by Suzanne Collins is a film about a dystopian society where the government tries to manipulate, control and even kill the citizens.

• Divergent is a novel by Veronica Roth about survivors trying to seek light about the activities that the government is trying to keep undercover.

Heroism

When you come across heroic content, you might often wonder how to develop a theme like this. Heroic content is usually portrayed with a main character who is destined to win at the end. This genre is popular because of the heroism and courage displayed by the main character, which wins the hearts of many, despite facing many challenges.

• Robin Hood:- Robin Hood is very popular folklore who steals from rich people and offers it to the poor.

• Percy Jackson:- is the story of a boy following his heroic deeds by defeating creatures and dark evil forces.

Individual vs. Society

Individual vs. society is a new kind of genre where an individual faces a hard time fitting with the norms of society. This is usually a rebel kind of genre or one about the center character who struggles to put up with society's expectations.

• Huckleberry Finn- This is a novel by mark twain, which is about a character who leaves his home as he finds it hard to fit in with the dominant society.

• Fahrenheit 451- is about a rebel who lives in a society where books are burned to prevent knowledge. The main character disagrees with this and starts saving books instead.
