The Transistor

The transistor is operated in common emitter configuration at VC=2Vsuch that a change from 5mA to 10mA. What is the current gain?

Let’s assume that the change in the current is,
         IB = (200 – 100) * 10-6 Amp.
            = 100 * 10-6 Amp.
Now, according to the collector current, the change in the current is,
         Ic = (10 – 5) * 10-3 Amp.
            = 5 * 10-3 Amp.
Therefore, the current gain is,
 =  Ic /  IB
            = 5 * 10-3/  100 * 10-6
            = 5/ 100 * 10-3
            = 50
Therefore, the gain in the current is 50 amp.
