This is one of two award-winning capstone courses that prepare students for the Graduate Diploma In Legal Practice (offered at AOF level 9) and their professional lives. Students must exhibit a clear and coherent presentation of their legal knowledge, legal practice, and conflict resolution skills in this course, as well as the ability to communicate these skills successfully in complicated situations to a variety of audiences with diverse requirements. This course challenges students to study, analyse, consolidate, and synthesise information from prior courses in order to suggest answers to difficult legal situations.

There are total 6 units which are to be covered within 12 weeks. Full-time students (those enrolled in 12 units per semester) are expected to dedicate a total of 48 hours per week to their studies during the semester. Unless there is proof that a group member did not contribute properly to the presentation/preparation, this grade will be shared by all members of the group. In that situation, the course coordinator will make adjustments to the grades. For this assignment, a group member who has not contributed should expect to receive 0%.

Honours students will work on a large research project with the course coordinator on a topic that has been agreed upon. By the middle of the semester, the subject must be finalised. Throughout the semester, the student will be supervised by a course coordinator, including frequent meetings and remote monitoring. A large written report is required of the student (2500 words).
The final two-hour invigilated examination will be organised by the exams office throughout the examination session. To pass the topic in its entirety, you must receive a mark of 40 percent or above on the test. According to the MACA Policy, any student who received a 50 percent overall mark for the course but failed a hurdle requirement would be dismissed.
