This policy can help to ensure that the individual responsible for the horizontal violence. The implication of this policy needs to be legally maintained in order to ensure that all the victims of horizontal balance are able to raise their complaints. The effect of interpersonal violence among the nurses can also be reduced significantly with the help of the zero tolerance policy and also ensure that healthy environment is maintained within the workplace of the Health Care Unit. The American Nursing Association have prepared the guidelines for zero tolerance policy in order to ensure the safety of the patient along with the nurses from the effects of horizontal violence.

All types of workplace violence along with verbal attacks are included within the policies that are implemented by the nursing Association (Becher & Visovsky, 2012).
