Questions:

1.Address the tension between a  new humility and the desire to pursue utopian visions enabled by development. How should we respond to such visions? What moral values or virtues are being pursued?

2..Contrast Joy and Kurzweil techno-pessimism and techno-optimism. How would Kurzweil respond to the Kaczynski dilemma (this will require you to articulate and evaluate the dilemma)?

Answers:

1.I think the state of Utopia is something unattainable, and to some extent it is vague. Advancement in technology has done wonders and has helped human race to move forward. The capability of approaching to our problems has significantly changed (Chordas, 2013). Life has become better and we have found better purpose of our life.

2.The advancement of technology has created dilemma among people whether it will lead to advancement or would be disastrous. This advancement could be considered as two ended sword. Protection against this advancement is not possible and we need to advance towards defensive technology to advance and quicken human values (Winston & Edelbach, 2011).
