1. Definition of records according to FERPA:
As per FERPA, education records refer to the documents comprising of information related directly to any student. These are maintained by educational institutions or agencies or via any party active for them. FERPA in most cases prohibits the ineffective disclosure of the personally identifiable data that is derived from education records (Kelly & George, 2016). In this way, the official data is obtained by personal observation or knowledge. This has to be heard orally from other people and is not secured within FERPA.
2. Difference between SLA and MOU:
SLA is an agreement or document where two parties agree to work together towards a common objective. MOU, on the other hand, is a legal document describing the agreement terms between two or more parties that has been forming a multilateral agreement. SLA has always been binding the parties towards the accords. MOU binds parties as a memorandum is signed in exchange for monetary considerations. SLA must be enforceable to a court of law. Memorandum of understanding is applicable in the court of law.
3. Purpose of service agreement regarding IT:
SLA is an ISP or Internet Service Provider providing customers with essential instances of SLA from the external service providers.
Here a description of the service is delivered. This indicates that maintenance of areas like domain name servers, dynamic host configuration protocol servers and network connectivity (Atan & Haider, 2016). Further, it provides reliability. This is done as the service is available and restricts the outages that could be expected to stay within.
